Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for the clinical and technical aspects of departmental work efforts. This position provides facilitation and consultation services to assigned clinical users/departments. The Clinical Informatics Specialist II participates in departmental initiatives and identifies ways that information technology could improve workflow.


Bachelor’s degree.


Licensed clinician with current Florida license in area of specialty by the Florida Department of Health (i.e. RN, RRT, PT, etc.) and one (1) of the following:

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification, or

HIT Pro course from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMI) completion or Certification, or

Completion of one (1) Quality Improvement or Patient Safety module from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School

A Master’s degree in Nursing, Information Technology related field, Allied Health, or clinical field eliminates the certification requirement.


Five (5) years of active and progressive experience in an acute care patient setting.
